The four vocations, rebalanced
8 October 2026 · Gravhold
We measured all four vocations against each other with the game's own formulas: how fast each one hunts at levels 20, 50, 100 and 160, how much damage it takes, and how often it wins a duel against every other vocation at equal level and equipment. Then we changed what was out of line.
Rogue
- The Rogue now fights with two hands: every attack hits twice. Each hit is a little weaker than a single blow, the first can be blocked, the second slips past the shield and finds the gaps in the armour.
- From a distance the Rogue throws two shuriken per attack, and the throwing range is now 3 squares. Two shuriken cost two pieces of ammunition, so every shuriken now costs half as much.
- Rogues no longer carry shields: the off hand holds a tekko. A normal shield does not block anything for a Rogue, and the Priestess now gives new Rogues a Cloth tekko.
- Shadow Step has a longer cooldown (12 seconds).
Knight
- New spell Charge (level 20, replaces Challenge): rush to your target from up to 6 squares away, slow it down for 3 seconds, and every creature around you turns on you.
- Knights hit harder: until now they were by far the slowest hunters. Whirl deals more damage, and the Steel sword and Runed blade are stronger.
Mage
- Mana shield: almost half of every wound is paid with mana instead of health, as long as you have mana. The Mage has the least health of all and the biggest mana pool, and now uses it to stay alive.
Archer
- Haste is now a short burst to get away: much faster for 6 seconds, every 16 seconds.
- Shots at very close range are less weak than before.
Everyone
- All vocations now walk at the same speed growth per level (the Rogue a little faster).
- Spells that hit a single target (Strike, Frost, Meteor, Divine Missile, Backstab, Envenom) and Whirl can now be cast on the player you are attacking, with the usual PvP rules.
- In a fight between players, damage is a bit lower and a potion or healing spell restores only a small share of your health: before, potions healed faster than anyone could hurt, and duels never ended.
- Hunting creatures works as before: potions heal in full.
