Parties, trading and spellcasting creatures

6 October 2026 · Gravhold

A big update to how Gravhold is played: you can now hunt as a team and trade with other players, and the creatures have learned to fight back with magic.

Parties

  • Right-click a player and choose Invite to party, or use the new Party window.
  • The leader can turn on shared experience: whoever kills a creature shares the experience with the party members nearby who took part in the fight.
  • Shared experience is on as soon as the party forms, and every kill is split in equal parts: half each in two, a third each in three. Your share pops up in white above your character.
  • Party members cannot hurt each other, have their own Party channel in the chat, and see a green skull above each other's name.
  • Commands: /party invite, /party join, /party leave, /party share, and /p to talk to your party.

Trading

  • Stand next to another player, right-click and choose Trade.
  • Put items and gold on the table. Changing your offer cancels both acceptances, so nobody is surprised.
  • When both players accept, the items change hands at the same moment, or not at all.
  • Walk away and the trade is cancelled. Quest items and full containers cannot be traded.

Creatures cast spells

  • Many creatures now use magic, like in the classics: fireballs that explode in an area, fire waves, energy beams, frost novas, life and mana drain, poison and burning that last a few seconds.
  • Some heal themselves, run faster for a while, or call help: the Demon summons a Fire elemental, the Lich raises skeletons.
  • Spells cannot be blocked with a shield. Watch the creature: it shouts the name of the spell.

Where to hunt

  • Every land, desert, ice or hell, is safe to walk at levels 8 to 20 on its main floor.
  • Each floor you go down into a dungeon, or up a tower, the creatures get stronger, and the deeper you go inside a floor, the worse it gets.
  • A creature is the same wherever it lives, and its level is no longer shown above its head. The Creatures page now shows where to hunt and the recommended level for each area.

Loot

  • Gold drops as before, but equipment is now rare, and the best of it is very rare.
  • Rare equipment is worth much more: selling a rare blade to the blacksmith is now a small fortune.
